Electrolysis

Electrolysis was developed 100 years ago by an ophthalmologist for treatment of ingrown eyelashes.  Today with modern technology and education, hair can be removed from almost any part of the body.  Some common areas for women include the hairline, eyebrows, cheeks, sideburns, breasts, bikini line, etc. Men often have hair removed from the hairline, beard shoulders, back, chest, ears; etc.  Electrolysis is very helpful for treating ingrown hairs, which frequently cause irritation in the beard area.

Excessive hair can be a result of several factors:

Hormone imbalances
Medication
Heredity
Topical influences (wax, tweeze, etc.)
Medical issues (thyroid, etc.)

Key Benefits

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How Does Electrolysis work?
A:

A small metal probe (as shown below) is inserted into the hair follicle alongside the hair. A small amount of electrical current is delivered to the probe by a sensitive electronic device called an epilator.  The electric current destroys the hair root either by heat or chemical action or the blend method, which is a combination of both.

Q: Is Electrolysis Permanent?
A:

Electrolysis has been shown to be permanent in over a century of use.  Its permanency has been well recognized by knowledgeable physicians and is also testified to by hundreds of scientific articles published in medical literature.

Q: Is Electrolysis Painful?
A:

Any discomfort during electrolysis is quite variable depending on a patientís tolerance, machine settings as well as other factors.  During most treatments a sensation should be noticed.  It has been described as a slight tingling.

Q What is the Cost?
A:

Treatment fees are generally reasonable. Temporary methods are costly over time, because they are unending.
